taking a turn . . .

For the worse.  Your dad is now bedridden, not eating, drinking little, skin and bones.

With Elizabeth last night at El Azteca.  She's back at work and trying to stay in her house as much as possible.

breakdown -- WB

Father dying + neighbor dying + cat dying + mother who's losing it + tuning into Titanic (and watching it to the bitter end) just as the ships hits the iceberg and the lives of 2,000 souls (as the movie says), through no fault of their own, are instantly altered forever = wailing and gnashing of teeth.

DSO

Rebecca and Steve come to town.  You, Jim, Anna, Rebecca and Steve head to Greenfield Lakes around four; pick up Rob (Baracco) and go into town for early dinner at Nikki's.  Great conversations about eveything from Phil and Friends to the Tricksters to Jimmy Herring to . . .

Walking through lot, you school Anna on proper show/drink etiquette.  She's a fast learner!

Perfect evening; not to hot, no rain, slight breeze.  DSO plays a short set (April 1971) that has lots of Pigpen in it.  Rob does a rocking PP rap in middle of "Good Lovin'."

anchored off masonboro

Sunset-to-midnight cruise with Jim and Ed.  Jim cooked burgers on the boat.  ATL tensions mostly gone.

move me brightly

MMB is the webcast from Tri Studios; starts tonight at 9:30.  Jim and I watch eating Mellow Mushroom pizza and salad.  The first seven or eight songs (the first hour) are sooo down tempo; you're over it by 11 p.m.  The band played on for four more hours; you're sure there were some great moments, but inspiration did not move you brightly and you bailed.

Or maybe it's just seeing it on TV; if you were in the live audience you're sure it would have rocked.

spiders

Nice little waves this morning at Oceanic; out for an hour.

First class at Bikram Wilmington: super hot and humid.  Sweating for an hour afterward; outside temp and humidity in mid 90s.  You get home in evening as a cold front moves through from the north.  Temp dropped to the mid 70s in an hour.  Incredible spider lightning and storms across the channel at dusk.  No rain here; a perfect evening.

WB

Got in around noon.  Dinner with Kevin and Jim at The Oceanic.  Good to be back and relax; but still carrying ATL anxiety . . .
